NAME
OF SOCIETY: Board of Church Warden.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: - Ensure limited movements
during mass and other liturgical celebrations and control access to restricted
areas e.g. Altar.
- To lead Parishioners by setting a good example and
encouraging unity and peace.
BRIEF HISTORY: The office of the church warden dates
from the 13th century and is one of the earliest forms of recognized lay ministry.
The primary function of the office at that time seems to have been that of
taking care of the church building and it's contents, including furnishing the
utensils for divine service..
DAYS OF MEETING/DEVOTION: Meeting holds every 1st
Sunday of a new month.
OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE PARISH: Novena and Feast day
of our Patron, St. Michael the Archangel.
